In most transactions, the reais land in your bank account on the same business day you confirm the conversion. This article walks through the full path of the money, the timing of each step and what can change it.
The path of the money
The money arrives in your USD or EUR account from the gateway, the marketplace or your client. It stays there as long as you want — there is no deadline to convert. When you accept the conversion, Traz closes the FX transaction, records its transaction purpose and sends the reais to the bank account registered under your company’s CNPJ (Brazilian company tax ID).
Quick summary
Conversion confirmed by 4 PM on a business day: the reais land the same day. After 4 PM, on the next business day.
Timing, step by step
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| You accept the conversion | Immediate |
| FX closed and recorded | Up to 30 minutes |
| Reais sent to your account | Same business day |
| Cut-off for same-day settlement | 4 PM · Mon to Fri |
What can delay it
- Bank account registered under a different CNPJ. Reais only go out to an account held by the same company.
- Bank holiday in Brazil or in the country the money comes from.
- A transaction above your monthly limit, which goes through an additional check before it is sent.
How to track it
Every transaction shows in your statement with its current status — sent, settled or under review. Once the reais go out, the receipt with the market rate, the Traz rate and the cost is available as a PDF on the same screen.
